Over the last few years our main interest has been the use of brief effective therapies that we find are culturally relevant. At present we are focusing on training people in Narrative therapy in Mumbai India.
We conduct a Basic Counselling Training in Mumbai which is open to anyone who is interested in learning how become more helpful. This course is based on Brief Solution Focussed Therapy (BSFT). We have had a number trainers from the US come and conduct these trainings here in Sft.
Narrative therapy is a highly effective counseling method currently at the forefront of effective counseling techniques. We've had trainers come from Australia, Norway and the USA come here and do a series of trainings. We have planned our next training in 2011

PAST TRAININGS
Since 1982 Dr Dayal Mirchandani and other members of our Network have conducted organised numerous counselling and psychotherapy training programes.
Some have been conducted by International experts in Mumbai for our members and the wider community. Many trainers generously shared their knowledge. Thanks to the support of Dr Jeffrey Zeig of the Milton H Erickson Foundation, Dr John Frykman, a close assoicate of Dr Milton H.Erickson, conducted a training workshop in Mumbai. Dr Robert Rosenbaum conducted training on Solution Focused Therapy (SFT) and Single Session Therapy; Dr Madeline Daniels on Biofeedback and Psychophysiological Training.
From the early 1980s we have been interested the use of Transpersonal Psychology for personal development and we have had many therapists, Dr André de Koning on Dreamwork and Jungian Therapy. Behavioural Science Foundation was the first to bring Dr Arnold Mindell the founder of Process Work to India in 1987. An article in the TOI on the dreamwork workshop here
We have also had workshops on Holonomic (Grof) Breathwork, Regression Therapy, Mindfulness based Awareness therapy, Psychosynthesis and the Use of Metaphors in Therapy.
Recently we have had many leading Narrative Trainers such as David Denborough and Cheryl White visit and lecture; while Dr John Stillman (USA), Geir Lundby (Norway) and Maggie Carey (Australia) have kindly conducted intensive narrative therapy workshops in Mumbai.
